Břve is part of Hostivice. It lies in the south-western part of the town, on the north shore of the pond called Břevský rybník. The first written mention of Břve dates to 1184.

Since 2012, TV Noe's Prague studio has been located on U Ovčína Street in Břve. The studio has the Garden of Reconciliation, an interactive exhibition about the Bible. The Chapel of Our Lady, Star of Evangelisation, near the studio belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Hostivice. Břve has a belfry and a chapel that is the 19th stop on the pilgrimage route from Prague to Hájek.
