The village of Kamenný Most lies in the valley of a stream called Knovízský potok. It is about 5 km from Velvary, 7 km from Kralupy nad Vltavou and 13 km from central Kladno. The village has a railway station on line 110 from Kralupy nad Vltavou to Louny.
The earliest written reference to Kamenný Most is generally dated to 1088 and associated with the foundation charter of King Vratislav II. At the village green stand a bell tower dating from the 15th century and a memorial to those who fell in the First World War. About a kilometre west of the village, at a place called U kamene, stands a roughly one-metre-high menhir made of ferruginous sandstone. Stanislav Suledr was born in Kamenný Most, served as chief of staff of the resistance organisation Obrana národa and died in 1945.
