Neuměřice lies in the valley of the Svatojiřský potok (also called Knovízský potok), about 15 km north-east of Kladno. The village has a stop on railway line 110.

The oldest surviving written record of Neuměřice dates from 1158. The village's only religious building is the Chapel of Our Lady of Svatá Hora and St Ludmila, restored in 2016. Astronomer Martin Bacháček z Nauměřic, rector of Prague University for many years, was born here in 1539. Since 2013, the municipal office has been based in a renovated former school building, which also has a children's corner.
