Úhonice lies about 19 km west of central Prague. The municipal office is on Na Návsi Street. Úhonice Primary School and Nursery School are located on Kateřinská Street in a school building built in 1907–1908.

The first mention of Úhonice dates to 1143, when King Vladislav II gave the village to the Premonstratensians of Strahov. The pseudo-Romanesque Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Úhonice was built between 1896 and 1898. The cemetery in Úhonice, where people from Ptice are also buried, has a cemetery chapel of the Strahov Premonstratensians dating from 1799. A niche shrine to St Florian, dating from 1855, stands on the village green in Úhonice.
